I have a weight problem....

Because of the carry-on restrictions for both my overseas flights and my bush plane flights while on safari, I could bring a grand total of 25kg for my cameras, laptop and clothing.

Not a lot when my big lens weights 5kg on its own, - holy crap that is 20% of the weight limit gone on 1 item... So i had to think long and hard about how do i cover all the range i need with my cameras, have a way to edit, and still be clothed.

Luckily, Pangolin provides a R6 mark II and a 100-500 lens, but I am bringing a higher quality R5 Mark II and 200-400 f4 with a built in tele-extender which extends the reach of the R5 to 560mm. So while I accepted the use of their camera, I declined the lens, and instead I am bringing a 70-200 f2.8 with a EF-R converter to put on the R6 mark II.

So now I have a combination of two cameras, with a combined range of 70-560mm, but wait... what about those cool wide shots and panoramic vistas... I needed more wide angle, so that is where the Canon M comes in. it is an older camera, but very light, and for wide stuff it will work just fine paired with a 16-35mm f2.8 lens. this is a cropped sensor camera so the 16-35 becomes a 26-56mm.

Now I have a three camera wide range of 26mm - 560mm with a tiny gap from 57-69mm. it just depends what camera i pick up.

This setup also saves me from having to ever change lenses, no lenses changes no dust and pollen in the camera, and cleaner, nicer photos.

Toss in a Insta360 x5 360 and Insta360 GO 3S for some personal video and the whole setup with batteries, chargers, and filters comes in at 11.1kg. Pair that with a my 17in high end laptop with cables at 5.4kg and I am sitting at 16.5 kg in total.

Oh good, i can bring some clothes... not a lot, but the lodge and camp both offer daily laundry service, so i only need one outfit to wear, one to be washed, and a couple other items like swim trunks, a jacket, and fleece. and with toiletries we get a weight of 7.7kg and a grant total of...... 23.4kg.

Whew, that's a relief.
